Waking Up… Somehow
Okay so lets start here, mornings suck right? like literally no one ever wants to wake up its like your bed is a magnet and the alarm is the worst enemy ever. People always talk about “rise and shine” like wow yes sure, but mostly i just hit snooze 3-4 times and pray for a miracle. But hear me out, there’s a way not to feel like a total zombie.
Sunlight is magic. Seriously. Not your phone, not insta notifications (pls don’t) just sunlight, peek thru the curtains, let it smack you in the face, and ur brain kinda wakes up. Its like a tiny espresso shot for your soul or something, idk its science-y but works.
Stretching… Or Flailing
So yeah, i know everyone does yoga vids on youtube and stuff, but who has time for that? I just stretch or flail around like a confused octopus sometimes, and lowkey it wakes me up more than coffee (ok maybe coffee is still #1 but u get the idea). I skipped this one month and wow my neck literally hated me, stiff as a board, i couldnt turn my head without looking like a robot malfunction. moving your body = happy brain? maybe, probably, just trust me.
Coffee (Or Whatever Keeps You Alive)
Caffeine, yes, its lifesaver. Some ppl can do tea or just water first thing, but nah i need coffee. Coffee is like a hug from the inside, or like a tiny cheerleader telling me “u got this human”. I dont care if it sounds boujee but sip it slow first, dont chug like a frat party, its key. Also baristas on tiktok say the way you sip ur coffee in morning can set ur mood, maybe placebo maybe not but works.
Mental Prep… Kind Of
Before diving into emails or doomscrolling twitter for the latest chaos, take 5 min. no fancy meditation or deep stuff. Just like “what the heck is today even” moment. Maybe write it on sticky, maybe in ur phone, maybe on a napkin next to bed, whatever u got. Its like checking GPS before a trip, otherwise ur lost immediately.
Breakfast… Please Dont Skip
i used to skip breakfast thinking it’ll make me skinny or save time or some bs. nope. hunger = zombie mode. even 1 slice bread with peanut butter works. dont need avocado toast or smoothie bowls that look like pinterest exploded. ur brain needs fuel ok. simple = fine.
Phone… just wait a bit
This is hard i know. but dont pick ur phone instantly. social media news etc, like pouring cold water on ur brain. Try waiting 20-30 min, drink coffee, look outside, stretch, feel human first. I did this for a week, life slightly less chaotic.
Grooming… basic but essential
Brush teeth, wash face, maybe deodorant if u remember, maybe even shower if u feel ambitious. signals ur brain: “ok ready for world now”. some mornings im lazy, splash water on face, call it good. some mornings spa mode cause why not. life is short, mornings can be cute too.
Pro tip: keep stuff right next to bed if ur lazy. literally reach and done. excuses gone.
Plan tiny stuff
Dont plan like CEO, just glance at big things. meetings, calls, deadlines. mental heads-up prevents day from feeling like ambush. also helps with unexpected stuff like rain. nothing worse than forgetting umbrella.
Tiny ritual – bonus happiness
Add one silly thing to make u smile. song while dressing, mini dance, meme scroll (but short, trust me). i have weird thing: rate sky 1-10 every morning. dumb but works, makes morning fun.
So yeah mornings are messy, some days u crush it, some days u hit snooze 5 times, spill coffee, cry a bit. but sunlight, tiny stretch, breakfast, coffee, mini mental prep, grooming, little planning, silly ritual = feel more human, less zombie. try for a week, maybe life slightly less chaotic… maybe. probably.
